BRAYDEN TRAN’S EAGLE PROJECT

Brayden’s Eagle Scout project is now complete! This project will benefit to the Hidden Oaks Nature Center and included two phases. Phase one was to design and build eight flying squirrel feeder boxes to replace the old ones that were damaged by raccoons and weather, The Nature Center has Flying Squirrel programs for children and adults to learn proven strategies to encourage these amazing native flying squirrels to the treed backyard, and the new feeding boxes will bring more flying squirrels to the park. The second phase was to add extension and spit rails to the fence at the back of the Nature Center. An unintentional trail has been forming when visitors shortcut through the back of the Nature Center. Repairing and adding an extension to the fence will protect the wildlife behind the Nature Center and to prevent people from creating a pseudo-trail. Thank you to everyone who helped!
