TROOP 1916: BUILDING BRIDGES

The scouts spent the month of March learning many pioneering skills with the aim of building a bridge on one of our upcoming campouts at The Adventure Park in Sandy Springs, Maryland, on the weekend of March 21-22, 2015.

We used bamboo from a scout's family home and transported it to The Adventure Park. Over the course of a day, the scouts built two bridges that could easily support  the combined weight of several of the McLean High School football team's offensive linemen (at least 500 pounds)!

If there are any doubters among those in the troop who could not attend the event, here is a slideshow of the scouts building their bridges. The show was a big hit when we played it at our Court of Honor in March 2015!
